Friday, Dec. 6 — Denver Press Club Holiday Party for members and guests. Buffet dinner, 5-8 p.m.; parade, 8-9 p.m. Tickets, $24 for adults and guests; $6 for members’ children.  At historic Denver Press Club, 1330 Glenarm Place, Denver.

Friday, Dec. 6 — Deadline for proposals to conduct up to $100,000 media landscape study for Colorado Trust (details here — third item).

Monday, Dec. 16 — SPJ 2020 Top of the Rockies Contest opens. Details at SPJ Colorado Pro.

Monday, Dec. 16 — ‘What You Should Know About Ukraine,’ a discussion between  Denver Press Club President Dan Petty and member Mark E. Dillen, an international media consultant who served for 25 years as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer in  Europe and was a press office director for the State Department. Social hour, 5 p.m.; discussion 6-7:30 p.m. At Denver Press Club. Free for members; $8 for others.

Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 10 p.m. — SPJ 2020 Top of the Rockies Contest closes. Details at SPJ Colorado Pro.

Friday, Saturday, March 27-28, 2020 — SPJ Region 9 Conference,  Salt Lake City. Hosted by SPJ Utah Headliners Chapter. At the Impact Hub, 150 S. State St., Salt Lake City (in the heart of downtown). Details, schedule TBA.

Friday, Jan. 31 — Deadline for applications for SPJ Colorado Pro Helen Verba and Sheldon Peterson Scholarships. Details here.

Saturday, April 11 — Denver Press Club Damon Runyon Award Dinner honoring Judy Woodruff of PBS News Hour. At Denver Athlethic Club. Times TBA. Tickets here.

Friday, April 17 — SPJ 2020 Top of the Rockies awards to be presented. At Denver Press Club, 1330 Glenarm Place, Denver. 6 p.m. Tickets.

Friday-Tuesday, Oct. 9-13, 2020. ScienceWriters 2020, the annual conference of the Council for Advancement of Science Writing and National Association of Science Writers. Registration limited to professional and student science writers. Fee. Details to be announced. At University of Colorado Boulder and CU Anschutz Medical Campus, Aurora.
