NPR Selects VOA Chief as New President and CEO

National Public Radio has selected veteran broadcasting executive John Lansing as its new president and chief executive.

Lansing has spent the past five years running the U.S. Agency for Global Media, parent of Voice of America and Radio Free Europe. Previously, he was an executive at E.W. Scripps, among other positions.

Lansing will start in October, succeeding Jarl Mohn, who has run NPR since 2014. NPR’s two major Colorado affiliates, which are operated independently, are Colorado Public Radio in Centennial and KUNC, Community Radio for Northern Colorado, in Greeley. NPR is based in Washington, D.C.
