Colorado FOIC Notes Resignation of Oregon’s Public Records Czar After Only 18 Months on the Job

The Colorado Freedom of Information Coalition passes along a story from Willamette (Oregon) Week relating how that state’s public records czar resigned after only 18 months, citing interference from the governor’s office. The governor’s office denies any impropriety.

CFOIC notes that such positions are of questionable use, unless they have independence from interests they are supposed to monitor.

Here is a link to the story, written by Nigel Jaquiss.
